Cookies.
Everything beyondwork.ai stores in your browser — session, analytics, and preference identifiers — and how to control it.
What this page covers
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser; browser storage serves the same role for a single site. This page lists everything beyondwork.ai stores in your browser and why.
What we set
Strictly necessary
bw_session keeps you signed in and lasts until you sign out or the session expires; in production it is set with the __Host- prefix so it never leaves this site. During Google sign-in, a short-lived state cookie protects the sign-in exchange and is removed when sign-in completes. Internal operator tools set their own equivalent sign-in cookies for staff.
Analytics
PostHog, our EU-hosted analytics service, sets an identifier (cookie and browser storage, names starting with ph_) that lets us count visits and see which pages are used. It is set only after you accept analytics cookies; before you choose, and after you decline, analytics run cookieless and no identifier is stored in your browser. It is not used for advertising and is not shared with ad networks.
Preferences
Your light-or-dark theme choice is kept in browser storage under bw-theme, and your analytics-cookie choice under bw-consent. Neither leaves your browser.
Your choices
You choose whether we set the analytics identifier: accept or decline in the banner, and change your choice at any time with the control below on this page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining or blocking the analytics identifier does not change what the Site can do; blocking the session cookie means you cannot stay signed in. Questions about the data behind the analytics identifier are answered in the Privacy policy.
